New Learning Pack for Newby Hall, just finished!

I’ve just finished researching and putting together an exciting new Learning Pack for Newby Hall near Ripon. The pack is designed to be used by Primary schools as a starting point for activities during a visit to Newby, but also contains loads of cross-curricular activities that can be developed and used as extension work back in school. The pack is inspired by a painting of the children of the First Lord Grantham, which hangs at Newby and is interesting because we know so much about the children; their names, ages, interests and what happened to them during their lives. Fascinating stuff and only possible because of the extensive family archive of letters and official correspondence, now held at the West Yorkshire Archive in Leeds.

Loads of stuff to help children get beyond the surface of a work of Art!
